For Private Catering & Conferences:

We require a 50% non-refundable deposit and the balance to be paid at least 10 days prior to the function.

For orders less than $550 + gst and delivery, we require full payment of the invoice to confirm the booking.

We do not take credit cards, we will invoice you for payment by direct credit

We accept payments via PayPal or Bank Transfer, but a fee will be charged as we do not pay bank fees for International payments….

Any quote given is only valid for 1 month.


For Corporate Orders:

For orders less than $1,000, we require the full payment to confirm the booking.

For orders more than $1,000 + gst and delivery, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm the order and the full balance paid to be paid by the date stated on the invoice. 

If your accounts system is fixed,we need to confirm the date the invoice will be paid if it cant be paid prior or within 7 days of the delivery. We require this confirmation at least 48 hours before delivery.

Any additions to the order after the payment date will be billed on a separate invoice after the function (to be paid within 7 days)& with the addition of any charges for lost items, breakages etc…

For  Both Corporate and Private Functions: 

Any alteration to the order must be made by email at least 72 hours prior to the function or delivery 

Deductions cannot be less than 50% of the original invoice. If it is less than 50% of the original invoice we can cancel the booking .

Any platters, bowls, ramekins, baskets, cloths etc lost or broken must be paid for by the client, ie: the person or company being invoiced.

A receipt of payment can be emailed on request.

If no deposit or payment of any kind has been paid to Tall Poppies Catering Company Ltd before the function, then we have the right to cancel the booking at any time, even if a payment arrangement for after the function has been made.

When we request table layouts and seating arrangements (especially for Weddings and High Teas, we are not responsible for any convenience the plating etc may cause if the plans are changed and we are not notified….

If delivery is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances e.g.: traffic delay due to accident or weather conditions etc… we are notable and no refund or discount will be given…..

We take no responsibility once the food has been delivered, although we will advise if the platters, canapés etc need to be refrigerated

All platters etc will be collected by Tall Poppies Catering Company Ltd. However, on the occasion that these items cannot be left at the venue, we will arrange to collect the items from the client.

A cleaning charge will apply if items are not rinsed for collection. This charge starts at $35+gst and increases to $120+ gst for larger orders. The cleaning charge applied is at the discretion of Tall Poppies Catering Company Ltd.

All products are subject to availability All our prices are GST exclusive


Site Visits:

For some events we will require a site visit…. This charge will depend only on the location, not on the amount of time spent at the venue…..

This is to ensure the viability of the venue and also the layout, kitchen facilities, access etc…..


Delivery & Collection:

Our Delivery Staff ONLY deliver the food & equipment, they DO NOT set it up.

If delivery is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances e.g. traffic delay due to an accident or weather conditions etc…. we are not liable and no refund or discount will be given.

We take no responsibility once the food has been delivered, although we will advise if the platter, canapés etc need to be refrigerated..will

All Platters will be collected by Tall Poppies Catering Company Ltd.  However, on the occasion that these items cannot be left at the venue, we will arrange to collect them from the client

All equipment is the responsibility of the client until it is collected.

Tall Poppies Catering Co prides itself on its food & the manner in which it is delivered. Should you be dissatisfied with something please let us know within 30 mins of the delivery to allow us time to amend the problem if possible…

 However, the invoice must be paid in full and any disputes will be settled once any equipment etc has been collected and any additional payment has cleared.


Dietary Requirements:

Dietary Requirements can be catered to by prior arrangement….. & will be plated separately. Labels will be supplied where applicable ….

We cater for Gluten Free, Vegetarian & Nut Free ONLY

Although every effort is made to keep your order free from contaminants such as gluten, nuts, fish, eggs & soy, all our food is made in a facility that contains these ingredients.

If you have a guest with a serious food allergy we suggest they  their own meal.


Left Over Food & Beverages:

All left over food will be thrown out unless the client specifies that they want it saved - in which case the client is responsible for providing containers to pack the food and they must pack it themselves.

Any Beverages left over are the responsibility of the client to arrange for them to be taken away….


Equipment Bond:

We charge a 25% +gst Equipment Bond, which is refunded after collection….

We require a NZ bank account for any refunds, as we do not refund to overseas accounts….

For large orders, everything will be checked once back at the kitchen, as it is too time consuming onsite…… 

If items are missing or broken, we will either charge a $2.50 per kilometre second collection fee or we will charge the client for the items to be replaced.

The choice of action is of the discretion of Tall Poppies Catering Co….

We will then keep the equipment bond & charge the difference to the client.

A minimum Equipment Bond of $50+ gst will be charged to orders under $250.00+gst…..

All High Tea equipment is required to be rinsed & wrapped & placed back into the boxes it came out of - this is to ensure there are no breakages on collection or transport back to or kitchen.  Failure to do this will result in loss of the Equipment Bond……

All Equipment must be all in one place ready for collection…..Failure to do this will result in loss of the Equipment Bond…..

We pride ourselves on the quality of the Equipment, Platters, Stands, China, Silverware etc that we use & expect our clients to treat it with respect….


Cancellations:

If your function is cancelled we require at least 72 hours notice and we require the notification either by letter or email

Full payment of the original invoice will be required to be paid if the cancellation is made 5 business days or less before the scheduled time of delivery.

Tall Poppies has the right to cancel any function at any time if necessary….


Late Payment Fees:

Your expectation as the client, is that we deliver your order on time, so our only expectation as the supplier, is that you pay on time. Fairs fair…

Payments made 7 days after the date stated on the invoice will be deemed overdue and will incur an initial $75 administration fee…

Payments made more than 7 days after the date stated on the invoice will incur an overdue interest rate of 20% of the outstanding balance each 30 days and a $75 administration fee every 7 days till the overdue invoice is paid.

Any discount that has been given will be revoked.

If the invoice is sent to debt collection, any costs arising from the recovery of our payment i.e.: court costs; solicitors fees etc will be charged to the client.This clause is intended to be for the benefit of and be enforceable by our debt recovery agency under the Privacy Contracts Act 1982.

These fees have been validated by the Commerce Commission.


High Tea Breakages - Replacement Fees:

Any items broken must be kept for us to collect, so we can give an accurate replacement cost - if an item is not kept, the replacement cost will be $80.00+gst.

Any items lost, broken or chipped incur the following replacement costs:

Any individual item from a Trio - cup, saucer or side plate - a minimum of $25.00 + gst (depending on the style broken)

Any individual item from a Tennis Set  - cup or plate - a minimum of $55.00 + gst (depending on the style broken)

Teapots, Coffee Pots, Milk Jugs & Creamers, Stands & Cake Plates - price of replacement depends on the item damaged, broken or lost

Silver Cake Forks & Teaspoons - $10.00 + gst each
